Best Heated Vests and Jackets for Winter (2026)

A heated vest warms your core and leaves your arms free. A heated jacket covers more but costs more bulk. Here is how to choose, how to read a battery claim, the two we checked, and the gloves and blanket that finish the job.

By LeeUpdated

The short answer

Choose a heated vest if you work with your arms or layer under a coat: the ORORO men's vest puts four heating zones on the collar, mid-back and pockets. Choose a heated jacket if you stand in the weather: the Venustas women's jacket adds a hood, sleeves and five panels. For cold hands and a cold bed, add the SAVIOR HEAT gloves and the Bedsure heated blanket. Every spec below comes from the Amazon listings, not the makers' own pages, so check size and colour there.

Our picks

Best vest for layering and workORORO

ORORO Men's Heated Vest

A lightweight puffer vest that works as an outer layer or under a coat, with a USB-C battery you can also use to charge a phone.

  • Four carbon-fibre heating zones across the collar, mid-back and pockets, with three heat settings. per the Amazon listing
  • A 7.38V 4800mAh battery with up to 10 hours of runtime on low, and a USB port that charges devices. per the Amazon listing
  • Machine washable with the battery removed; the listing says the heating system is designed for 50+ wash cycles. per the Amazon listing

The catch A vest leaves your arms uncovered, and the heat comes from four zones on the torso. ORORO's own site lists no vest under this exact name, so we show its closest official vest and cannot confirm every detail matches.

Scene shows ORORO’s closest official model, not necessarily this exact listing. Check the colour, size and features on the Amazon page.

Venustas Women's Heated Jacket

A hooded jacket with five heating panels across the shoulders, chest and back, so more of you is warmed than in a vest.

  • Five carbon-fibre heating panels (shoulders, chest, back) and three heat settings. per the Amazon listing
  • A 36Wh battery pack: up to 10 hours on low, 6 on medium and 3 on high, and it can charge a phone. per the Amazon listing
  • A detachable hood, a waterproof chest pocket, a dedicated battery pocket and FELLEX insulation; machine washable. per the Amazon listing

The catch The listing carries no model number and mixes features that Venustas's own site lists on different jackets, so we cannot tie it to one official model. The charger is not included, per the listing.

Savior Heat Heated Gloves
Add for your handsSAVIOR HEAT

Savior Heat Heated Gloves

A vest or jacket leaves your hands out. These rechargeable leather gloves carry a battery on each cuff and heat the fingers and the back of the hand.

  • Dual 7.4V 2200mAh Li-polymer batteries, with up to 8 hours of warmth, which the seller attributes to its own testing reports. per the Amazon listing
  • Three heat settings: 104-113°F, 113-122°F and 122-149°F. per the Amazon listing
  • A Hipora waterproof membrane, 3M Thinsulate insulation and a 150D twill shell; a dual-port charger refills both batteries in about 2 hours. per the Amazon listing

The catch SAVIOR HEAT's own site does not list this model number (its current ski glove is a different design), so we can only quote the Amazon listing. The 8 hour figure is the seller's own claim, with no heat setting named; assume it is the low setting.

SAVIOR HEAT’s own site does not list this exact model, so the facts above come from the Amazon listing. Check them there before you buy.

Bedsure Heated Blanket, Queen

A heated blanket warms the bed rather than the whole room, and dual controls let each side of the bed set its own heat.

The catch Bedsure's own site does not list this exact model. Its closest blanket states a different timer and shut-off time, so check both on the Amazon listing before you buy.

Vest or jacket: the one decision that matters

Heated apparel is a battery taped to a few heating elements, and the choice is about where you need the warmth. A vest keeps your core warm and leaves your arms free for work. A jacket warms more of you and keeps wind and wet off, but you carry the bulk of a coat.

A practical rule: if you already wear a shell or coat on top, buy the vest and wear it as a mid-layer. If the heated garment is your outer layer, buy the jacket. Do not expect a vest alone to be a winter coat; the ORORO listing itself describes it as something you wear as an outer layer or a mid-layer under a heavier coat.

How to read a battery claim

Every heated-garment listing leads with a runtime, and the number is nearly always for the lowest heat setting. The Venustas listing is honest about this by giving all three: 10 hours on low, 6 on medium, 3 on high. The ORORO listing gives one number, up to 10 hours on low. In both cases the high setting, the one you use when it is genuinely cold, lasts far less.

Capacity is the only number you can compare. The Venustas listing states 36Wh. The ORORO listing states 7.38V and 4800mAh; multiplying volts by amp-hours (7.38 x 4.8) gives about 35Wh, which is simple arithmetic, not a figure from ORORO. They are in the same range. A bigger battery is the way to buy more hours; check that a spare is sold for the garment you choose.

What to check before you buy any heated garment

  • Where the heat is — Collar and mid-back warm your core; hand-pocket panels warm your hands. Pick the zones for the job you do.
  • Runtime on the setting you will use — A "10 hour" claim on low is not a 10 hour day on high. Divide by the settings.
  • Washing — Both listings say machine washable with the battery removed. If a garment does not say so, assume it does not.
  • Charger and ports — The Venustas listing says the charger is not included. USB-C charging (the ORORO listing) means a cable you probably own.
  • Sizing — Heated garments are cut around their heating elements. Read the size chart on the listing and look at the returns policy before you order.

What we could and could not verify

We read each Amazon listing on October 9, 2026 and used only what it states, worded as "the listing says". We looked for the exact models on the makers' own sites (ORORO's, with 687 products, and Venustas's) and did not find them under these names, so we cannot give you maker-sourced specs for these two. That is also why the pictures on this page show each maker's closest official model and say so.

The same holds for the gloves and the blanket: SAVIOR HEAT's and Bedsure's own sites do not list these exact models, so their specs here are the listings' too.

We have not worn or used any of the four. If a listing and the box disagree on a spec, the box is right and we want to hear about it.

Common questions

How long does a heated vest battery last?

It depends on the heat setting. The ORORO listing says up to 10 hours on low; the Venustas listing says 10 hours on low, 6 on medium and 3 on high. Treat the low-setting figure as the best case.

Can you wash a heated vest or jacket?

Both listings say machine washable. The ORORO listing says to remove the battery before washing, and that the heating system is designed for 50+ wash cycles. Follow the care label on the garment you receive.

Is a heated vest enough, or do I need a jacket?

A vest warms your core and leaves your arms free, so it suits layering and work. If the heated garment is your only outer layer in wind or wet, a jacket with sleeves and a hood covers more.

Can I charge my phone from the battery?

The ORORO listing mentions a built-in USB port for charging devices, and the Venustas listing says its battery works as a portable power bank. Charging a phone will cost you heating hours.
